Not every unit needs to be new. Matching condition to budget is most of the buying decision, so here is exactly what our grades mean — for the boxes and for the trailers — and what we check before anything leaves the yard.
Shipping Container Grades
One-Trip / New
Best conditionBuilt overseas and used for a single cargo voyage to the US. Factory paint, square doors, clean seals and only the scuffs a single trip leaves behind.
Best for: Container homes, mobile offices, retail builds — anything that will be seen or modified.
Cargo Worthy (CWO)
Certified for shippingStructurally certified for international shipping. Surface rust and cosmetic dings are normal, but the box is wind- and water-tight with sound floors, doors and seals.
Best for: Storage, jobsites and workshops — the best value with a structural guarantee behind it.
Wind & Water Tight (WWT)
Dry storageRetired from shipping service but still sealed against the weather. More rust and dents; doors work and the interior stays dry.
Best for: On-site storage where the budget matters more than the paint.
As-Is
BudgetSold exactly as inspected. May carry dents, heavier rust, or doors and seals that want attention. Priced for it, and described honestly.
Best for: Buyers who can do minor repairs, or who need the cheapest steel on the lot.
Trailer Condition
New
Factory buildCurrent-model-year units from the manufacturer, unregistered and unused. Full factory finish, new tires, new wiring, MCO supplied.
Best for: Buyers who want warranty coverage and a clean title trail from day one.
Used — Inspected
Road readyPre-owned and checked over frame, deck, coupler, axles, brakes, bearings, lights and tires before it is listed. Any fault we found is written into the listing.
Best for: Working trailers where a few miles and a few scratches are not a problem.
The Five Checks
Container frame, corner castings and floor — or trailer frame, welds and deck.
Container doors, gaskets and roof. Trailer harness, seals and enclosed panels.
Axles, hubs, bearings, springs, brakes and tires on every towable unit.
Full 7-pin harness test: markers, brake lights, turn signals and ground.
The actual unit, photographed where it stands — not a manufacturer render.
